Permits

Government Film Licenses 
Kenya: costs are between USD 100 and 300 depending on the length of the shoot. A government liaison officer may be present on the set to monitor the film production (accommodation and transport at the expense of the production company).

Tanzania: USD 1000 per shoot if application is filed at least 35 days before filming and 3000 $ if less. All applications must be given first to the Tanzanian embassy of country of origin.

Film Licenses in National Parks and Game Reserves
Kenya: No difficulty cost varies depending on the size of the crew. USD 300 in Kenya for a week for a crew of 5/6 people
Tanzania:USD 100 per person per day in Tanzania

Immigration
Kenya: Temporary work permit to be issued beforehand at USD 150 per person
Tanzania: No work permit necessary but you are expected to take a business visa for 250$

Customs
Kenya: Customs duty maximum USD 400 + transit charges (+/- 1% of the value of the material, negotiable)
Tanzania: Special dispensation for free temporary importation + transit charges (+/- 1% of the value of the material, negotiable)

If the equipment arrives several times: USD 100 charges per arrival
